Tiara and Veil Trends for 2009

After attending the National Bridal Market in Chicago, we got a first-hand look at new products from all of the major bridal companies.  That, along with our talking to brides every day, has helped us put together this list of hot trends for 2009.

In tiaras and headpieces, one of the newest trends are ribbons adorned with crystals that can be tied around a bun, worn like a headband, or be worked in to just about any hairstyle.  They are versatile, delicate, and very feminine.

One of the other trends in bridal headpieces are headbands.  Instead of a crown-like tiara, they lie flat (more like a traditional headband).  Often they have a focal piece in the center or just off to one side.  Just as beautiful as a standard tiara, they are perfect for brides wearing their hair down or with short hair, or those who might not want the "princess" look.

In veils, the biggest trend that we have noticed is most of our brides opting for short veils from 18"-24".  With most bridal gowns having beautiful detailing on the back, this allows the bride to wear a veil without detracting from the beauty of the dress.  These shorter veils are available in a wide variety of styles.
